Long time no update.

These days, I was too busy to update this.
But I will continue this blog.
So I will add dairies sometimes I can.

I work on my graduation research these days.
My graduation research is to create a system, which converts one program into two different mobiles' applications automatically.

I think I have to do my best to accomplish it.

Toefl exam part6.

 Q6.
If you could change one important thing about your hometown, what would you change? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

My answer.
I would change the way of using my hometown's land.
Now it is used for factories. Because there are many large space  in my hometown's land, and factories increase the number of employment.
But actually it is not for my hometown.
There are two reasons of it.

First, factories often pollute environment around them.
Waste produced from factories often damages living things around them and sometimes damage people living around them too.
For example, the Minamata disease was caused by the waste from a factory and it produced numerous casualties.

Second, this characteristic doesn't produce specialty.
People living in my hometown only work for companies which have the factories and nothing will produced as a my hometown's specialty.

So I think we would better use my hometown's land for farms.
It would produce my hometown's specialty foods and doesn't pollute environment.
For example, Miyazaki city uses its land for farms, and it produces its specialty foods such as the Miyazaki beef, which is well known in Japan. And pollution hasn't happened these days in Miyazaki city.

Because of the above reasons, I would change the way of using my hometown's land from using for factories to using for farms.

Toefl exam part5.

Q5.
A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

My answer.

The advantage of it is that leap in employment happens in my community.
And the disadvantage is that it pollutes environment around my community.

I oppose the factory.
Because the pollution of environment around my community makes my life worse.
The factory gives out pollutant and it might damage my health.
For example, some Japanese experienced some diseases such as the Minamata disease, caused by the waste from factories.
So I think the factory may damage us.

Someone argue why I don't consider the advantage.
But nothing is more important than life.
So we should put life first in everything.

Because of the above reasons, I opposed the factory.

So busy.

These days, I have many things to do.
Actually, I delayed a graduation work because of an exam for a graduate school.
So I have to work little harder.(><)
And I wanna keep studying English so hard.
And I have to work on my assignment from a professor of my lab.
It is about programming an application of iPhone.
It is actually interesting for me.(><)
And this book of reference is totally written in English.
So it is good for improving my reading skill.

But it cause a lack of time for improving speaking English.

I need more time than 24 hours in a day!!!

Toefl exam part4.

Today, I broke my glasses.(><)
What is worse is that this happened while I did my job at a cram school.
So I connected it with a tape and I wore this.
I was so embarrassed.
I really loved it!!!(><)

I work on Toefl exam today too.

Q4.
It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

My Answer.
In my opinion, knowledge gained from experience is better.
There are two reasons for my argument.

First, it is easier to practice knowledge gained from experience, because we experienced practicing the knowledge before.
For example, when I want to play basketball, if I only learn how to dribble from a book, I can't do.
But if I actually manage to dribble once, I can do it next too.

Second, there are many things which are expressed more complicated in a book.
For example, when I learned how to subtract at a math class, I couldn't understand what an explanation about subtraction on a textbook meant.
But when I actually experienced practicing subtraction with some apples, I could understand it easily.

Some people might argue that knowledge gained from experience is less.
But a number of knowledge gained from books is usually about equal to knowledge gained from experience unless you don't read books very much.

Therefore, I think knowledge gained from experience is better.

Toefl exam part3.

Q3.
Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

My Answer.
I think this change improve the way people live.
There are two major reasons for my argument.

First, this change makes people more stronger. It means this change gets it easier to get proper nutrition.
For example, when I finish training, I can consume enough protein easily.
And it improve efficiency of training.

Second, thanks to this change, we can spend much time doing other things but preparing food. So we can improve various ability.
For example, thanks to this change, I can spend much time learning. And it improve my knowledge.

Some people argue that some people lose preciousness of food. But actually we need to work to get food as well as preparing food. So we usually feel preciousness of getting food.

Therefore, I think this change improve the way people live.

Toefl exam part2.

Q2.
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

My Answer.
I agree with this statement because of some reasons.

First, they generally teach us knowledge needed to live.
For example, I was learned a language from my parents in my childhood.
They taught me it every day, and I think no one could do it.
In addition, they taught me a table manner. No one could do it every time I had a dinner too.

Second, generally no one thinks of us more than our parents.
So parents tries to teach us harder than anyone else.
So it is usually the most efficient and effective to learn from our parents.

For example, when I used chopsticks in a wrong way in a school, my teacher of the school scolded a little, but when I did a same thing in my house, my parents scolded much more, and actually it was more effective than that of the teacher in the school.

Some one might argue that teachers of a school usually have more knowledge than parents and it is the reason why teachers of a school are better.
But knowledge which teachers have more than parents is usually specialized things and usually their are not more important than a common sense.

For example, even if I know the way to solve addition, if I don't know a table manner, I can't do business.

So I agree with this statement because of these reasons.

Strategy of TOEFL.

Today, I learned the strategy of Toefl speaking and writing from my foreign friend.
So I will practice it.

Q1.
People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

My Answer.
I think people attend college or university for getting knowledge.
So let me explain these reasons.

First, in a college or university, I can learn from professors of what I want to learn. And I can get more knowledge than I get by myself.
For example, when I learned in the mathematics class, I had an question which I couldn't solve by myself. So I asked a professor and then he answered it quickly and understandably. And he taught me what was related with the question too.

Second, I can use the most recent equipments in an area of what I want to learn and practice using them.
For example, in my college, I can attend classes which I can learn how to use the most recent system and I actually use it in. And I actually use it by myself now.

Someone may say that he can learn knowledge by myself, but it is efficient and effective to learn in college by these two reasons.
Therefore, I think people attend college or university for getting knowledge.

So it was too hot in the cram school today.

I want more than 24 hour in a day.

Today, I went to my lab and I did my work.
Actually, it is assignment given by professor.
It is about making applications of the iPhone.
To be honest, it is interesting.
And an instruction written in English, which was given by the professor, I think, will improve my English skill.
So I feel like trying it now!(^^)

These few days, I've gotten a many new friends who can speak English in skype.
I‘m happy about it.

But there is only one problem.
There is not enough time for me.

I'll pick up what I have to do in a day.

Doing my assignment
Talking at an online English lesson
Studying for the TOEIC test
Watching the Full House

My goal at this summer is improving my English skill and building up my muscles more by training with my friend.

I'll hang on with all my might!

Too nervous.

Today, I had the interview exam for the graduate school.
So I was really nervous.(><)
The conclusion will be revealed on September 14th.
I want to know it soon.

In Japan, the Democratic party was thrown into disorder because of the party leadership election.
I can't understand why the candidates who belong to the same party have to be opposed to each other even though there are many problems they have to solve together.

The problem which has gotten the most attention recently is the inordinate appreciation of the yen.
There are various opinions about it.

On the minus side, the items made from Japan will be unsalable.
Because the items made from Japan will be more expensive in other countries, due to this shift.

On the plus side, Japanese can buy the items made from other countries at a more low price.
The items include the campanies.
It is the chance for Japanese taking over other countries' companies.

Anyway, I think it is dangerous to leave this situation because of the export business's crisis.
I think it will plunge the industries into crisis too.
So I hope the government will take some countermeasures without concentrating only to the election.

Too hot.

It was too humid and too hot.
I can't believe it's the end of August already.(><)
Hokkaido, which is the summer retreat of Japan, is hot too.
I can't believe it too.(><)

It is, as you know, the king of the animals, a lion.
It looks so powerful, doesn't it?
To be honest, I could take this picture thanks to the function of my camera.
Because there were too many people taking a closer look at a lion near it to take it from nearby.
So I took it from a distance.

And it is swimming penguins.
In the Asahiyama zoo, we can watch them from a glass-paneled pathway which is in the inside of water they swim in.
So we can watch them in a natural state.

This is the specialty of the Asahiyama zoo.
Seals swim through this glass-paneled poll and we can watch them from the outside of it.

The feature of Asahiyama zoo is that we can watch the animals in a more natural state.

I encourage you to go to Hokkaido once at least!(^^)

Long time no update.

I've finally finished the exam.
After this, I've gone home to see my parents and come back to my house in Tokyo the day before yesterday.

My home is in Hokkaido, and there are many beautiful landscapes.
So I traveled in Hokkaido with my girlfriend after I went to see my parents.

Furano city in Hokkaido is well known for its beautiful landscapes.

I took this picture at the Senbo mountain pass.
It looks so beautiful, isn't it?

And it was taken at the Hill of Shikisai.
Furano city is well known for the beautiful lavender farm too.
But when we went to Furano city, lavenders there have been already died.
So almost all of flower gardens in Furano city have already finished their best time.
But it so happens that it was other flower's best time in the Hill of Shikisai when we went there.
We were so lucky.

And it was taken at the Hill of Shinei.
As soon as we left there, it began to rain.
We were really lucky!(^^)

Next time I'll show pictures which I took at the Asahiyama zoo.

I don't know if my choice is correct.

This isn't my business.

Today, I studied in an usual cafe which is pretty cool wearing a sweater with an usual partner.
He is very smart.
So sometimes I ask him some questions and usually he answers quickly.
But today, I asked a too difficult question for him to answer easily.
So he said to me, "It's not my business."
He was cool.
He is Japanese. But he said it naturally.
I have to bring many phrases like it in me.(^^)

Do you know the Skype me?
It is the function of the Skype.
He advised me to use it to speak in English with the natives.
This function tells you the man who is bored and wants to talk whoever wants.
It means you can find the man to talk in English.

But it is pretty hard for me.
I wonder my talking skill is good enough to talk with the natives.

I'll try to use it after the exam is finished.

The Spaceman.

These days, the space is popular in Japan.
It means that many Japanese are interested in Japan.
It is because many things related with the space, such as the Hayabusa which has come back to the earth and Mr.Nogushi who has come back to the Earth, appeared in this year.

Now I'm watching a TV show which features the space.
It says that if human can have a baby in the space shuttle, the baby is very the spaceman.
It is really right.
And it is exactly the evolution as the living things has come to the ground.
I wonder when the spaceman who is from the earth appears.

When I watched the TV program which made a feature that the number of the younger who preferred the sea was decreased, I felt bad because I thought it is nonsense.
But I was too stupid.
Because this change which apparently nonsense appreciably effects on the market related with it and even the market which isn't seemingly related with it.
I forgot the saying, "The change makes the chance."
I have to do introspection on it.

It seems that the typhoon coming near to Japan affects it.

Despite this, cafes kept an air conditioner in the same way as other hotter days.
So it was too cool in a cafe which I studied today.

My university has closed for this week as the summer vocation.
This university's vocation comes in the saving its electric bill.
Because of it, I can't use my lab or my university's library.

So I used this cooler cafe with my sweater.

How nice!

This is the original of the song which I introduced yesterday.
It is good too, isn't it?

By the way, the Full House, which is My favorite drama, really attracts me.
Joey, who is a character of it, is funny guy.
But he sometimes says what really touches me.

Today, I heard from him, "No one ever knows."
This phrase meant that no one knows which way he should select.
I'm worrying which lab I should select.
I've gradually made my mind.
I got an appointment to see directly the lab which I wanted to belong to.
And after this, I have to make a decision which lab I belong to.
I don't know how this decision will effect on my career and how much it will.
So I and my friends said what we think to each other, and argued with each other.
But finally, I will have to make a decision by myself.

The phrase, which is "No one ever knows", encouraged me.

He is really good guy!(^^)

How great!

Do you know this song?
It is used for the theme song of the "Spirited Away", which is called "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi" in Japan.
This song is actually a Japanese song.
But I've found the English version.
I love this version too.

To be honest, I thought this movie wasn't funny very much.
Because I couldn't find the theme which really impressed me or moved me.
And there were some people who felt in the same way.

On the other hand, this movie was very poplar abroad.
It seems that the many scenes of it which shows beautiful Japanese views attracted the foreign people.
It's true that this movie shows such scenes.
And they attract Japanese too.

If you haven't watched it yet, you should do!

No fireworks.

I think I can't go watching any fire works in this summer.
I have the entrance exam on August 17th, and I will go back to the Hokkaido, in which my home town is, from after the entrance exam ends to the last day of August.
The days which the fire works are held on are concentrated on August.
So it is hardly that the fire works are held after August.
Because it is cooler after August.

I can't think of the fire works without thinking of holding a place and crowd.
We can have a good time only when the fire works are just being held.
Before then and after then are just like survival.
We have to make strategic plans to get the good watching place before the fire work is held and escape from the crowd after it ends.

I love Gyudon!

These days, I eat a gyudon at the Matsuya.
Do you know the Matsuya?
The Matsuya is one of the most favorite gyudon chain restaurants.
The sales point of it is speed and convenience.
So I utilize it when I'm busy.

Other ones of the most favorite gyudon chain restaurants are the Yoshinoya and the Sukiya.
Their names are just like Japanese style, aren't they?
There is the order between them.

The most favorite one is the Sukiya.
The Sukiya is like a family restaurant so much that young ladies and girls can eat a gyudon at it.
Families can utilize it casually too.
And it has various original menus.
They are the reasons why it is so popular.

The second one is the Matsuya.
It sells gyudons in the lowest price of the three.
This gets the Matsuya so popular.

And these two are in a close match.

The Yoshinoya ,which is the oldest gyudon chain restaurant in Japan, is left pretty away.
The Yoshinoya is also as convenience as other two.
But it has no other features which make difference between it and other ones.

The Yoshinoya's gyudon is more good than other's I think, but it's not good enough to make people cost more than other's.

I think the Yoshinoya has to make strong features which other two don't have.

Now, I'm watching the Japanese movie, named Tsurugidake, on TV.
In it, Mr.Teruyuki Kagawa performs a part of a nice person who we should respect.

But some days ago, I watched him performing a part of an odd person.
He is great because he can perform any parts of from an odd person to a great person.
And because when he performs, he looks nobody but the person he acts exactly.
Of course, I think you can't believe that he acted an odd person, when he acts a great person, and so is the opposite.

He is so cool.(^^)

I've watched only one disk of it again and again in a week to increase my English skill.
And of course, to pleasure.
And I have finally finished watching a whole of Season 1.

So I watched a first disk of Season2 today.
There was something changed from a former Season.
First, the opening movie was changed a little.

And they grew a little .
Steph entered a elementary school, Micheal could talk a little, and Jesee cut his regent.
And some new characters appeared.
I really love it!(^^)

And I heard a good phrase in it.

Japanese mystery.

These days, TV news tell a same news which is about Japanese mystery.
The detail of it is that some Japanese old people who are registered as they live have actually dead for a few years.
The reason why a problem like it happened is that anybody, even their relatives, didn't realize what had happened to the old people.

There are various reasons why they couldn't realize it.
But many of them are apparently because the old parson and his or her relatives drifted apart.

The administration seems to feel to be responsible for this problem and they try to solve it by changing its systems.

But I think it was caused by their relatives.
The relatives, at least their sons or grandchildren, is responsible for their parents or grandparents.
I think this is natural because their sons and grandchildren were cared by them very much and they should return by taking care of their parents or grandparents.

Connection between relatives in Japan has been apart.
I think it is a heavy problem and we Japanese have to think it over much.
And we have to change such a bad thinking on relation between our parents and us.

I learned a word "connive".
It has two means.
One is pretending not to watch any crimes.
Another is helping someone to do crime.

In Japan, adults tell children that these two things are same, and actually they are considered to be almost same.
But in English, They are contained in a same word, and they are completely same.

It seems that they are treated as same in English.

The two most popular robots.

In Japan, there are many animated cartoons which portray robots.
I think robots are longed for by Japanese.

The most popular one in them is, as you know, the Doraemon.
The Doraemon is exactly for children.

In Japan, there are many animated cartoons for adults.
And there are some of them which portray robots.

The Gundam and the Evangelion are I think the most popular in them.

The Gundam is popular in a pretty former generation rather than a younger generation.
The Gudam is liked because it is dandy.
People in a pretty former generation are prefer dandy to showiness.
So the Gundam is liked by them.

On the other hand, the Evangelion shows weakness rather than cool or good looking.
It portrays weakness of people's mind skillfully.
And it is very original.
When you watch it for the first time, You may not understand what it mean.
Because there are too small description to notice.
People in a younger generation sympathize its weakness and enjoy detecting its description as if they solved a riddle.

It expresses a difference between these two generations.

Good points of it is a younger generation's people have been able to accept their weakness by them and notice that all of them have their own weakness naturally.

Bad points is it may get someone not making his effort to defeat his weakness.

Though I expressed my opinion of them, actually I don't like either of two much.(^^;)

He is too strong, isn't he?
Villains are knocked flat in an instant as if he sweeps the dust off.

And in this movie, woman who appeared and was pretty beautiful was actually just a man!!!
I was really surprised.
And I was disappointed at my eyes.(><)
Uhhhhhh.

Several days ago, a TV program illustrated about a change of an idol's style in Japan.

These days, the idols who is closer to their fans are more popular, while the idols were just objects yearned by their fans before.

According to the program, the fans recently want to feel getting their idols more famous by them.

Mr.Akimoto, who made one of the most popular idol groups "AKB48", used this change successfully and got it more popular.

It is exactly an example of that there must be a chance of success when some changes occur.

Giving up isn't your style.

Today's title is a line of the Full House.
It is really nice, isn't it?

I was really impressed by this line.

There is many nice lines in the Full House.
I will introduce them.

He was raised by a family of really stupid wolves.
”こいつはかなり狂ったオオカミの家族に育てられた(ような奴なんだ)。”

She is history.
”彼女のことは忘れなさい。”

Nobody asked me.
”誰も聞かないんだもん。”

I know exactly how you feel.
”君がどんな思いかはよくわかっている。”

I'm dead meat.
”もうだめだ。”

I move into a place with a washing machine on the exact day I run out of clean clothes.
”きれいな服を使い切ったちょうどその日に洗濯機のある家に来れた。”

etc...

I will introduce other ones some other time.(^^)

What do you think?

Today, I was asked about contents in "The Japan Times".
In it, it was expressed that a number of Japanese students who received natural science doctorates in the United States was much less than other countries such as China, India, South Korea and Taiwan.

I had some opinion and I wanted to tell them.
But I couldn't do because of lack of my vocabulary.
So I will tell it in this blog.

I think many Japanese people are relieved about the present situation which we can get almost all stuffs we want and sure to get knowledge much enough to compete with other countries in Japan.

But this is bad situation.
Because people around the world would think that Japanese students don't have strong will to get knowledge, and they would even thought that Japanese lack ambition.

So we Japanese should consider it.

The fear of the Guerrilla rain.

These days, TV news warns about an unexpected heavy rain.
It is called "Guerrilla rain".
The reason why it is danger is that it is difficult to expect it and it is badly heavy rain.
So a mudslide is often be warned.

But an apartment I live in is located on comparatively level ground.
So I don't have to care about a mudslide.
In spite of it, why I fear it?

Because it spoils my laundries which dried outside the house.
It is fatal for me.

Because my clear under pants already ran out and if my cloths dried outside are spoiled, there is no under pants I wear tomorrow.(><)
If it becomes so, I curse heaven.

Even if I say so, it is too hot and I think my laundries will be dry soon.
As long as it doesn't meat with the Guerrilla rain.
I just believe it.

Korean foods is good.

Today, I went to a Korean restaurant for the first time.
I could get a hot and delicious dinner there.

In Korea, it seems that we can get kimchees for free in a restaurant.
I hope I can go to Korea and have a lunch or dinner in its restaurant.
