Question.
Some people believe that the Earth is being harmed (damaged) by human activity. Others feel that human activity makes the Earth a better place to live. What is your opinion? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
My Answer.
In my opinion, the Earth is being harmed by human activity.
First, there are still many countries which haven't been developed yet. Almost all of them hope to be developed and effort to compete with developed countries. If they want to beat developed countries, they must do more efficiently than developed ones even if the way they do harms environment. It means that developing countries sometimes sacrifice environment for their development. For example, when Japan wasn't developed yet, there were many environmental pollution. It was caused by factories which made Japan developed.
Second, developed countries can buy anything including woods from developing countries because developed ones have much money and developing ones need money. As a result, environment of developing countries is destroyed. For example, Japanese has bought many woods from developing countries like Malaysia.
Finally, humans value their selves and their profit most. So if one knows his work is harming environment, he wouldn't stop it because if he stops it, he can't earn money and can't live. He mustn't quit his work, and he would continue to do it. It results in continuing to harm environment.
I think there is only one way to stop harming environment, and it is that we create a law all humans gain completely same things, same quantity. Because if there are any difference, one who gains less or worse do anything to gain more or better, like China caused many environmental pollution in its territory to develop its own economy. Japanese did the same thing too before it became developed. Unless we don't do this, human would continue to harm environment.
Because of the above reasons, the Earth is harmed by human activity.
